Trustwave's Managed Internal Vulnerability Scanning (IVS) service provides the ability to view and scan network assets from behind the corporate perimeter firewall, providing a comprehensive view of the organization's IT environment. Once installed, the IVS scans a defined list of IP addresses that correspond to servers, file sharing systems, mail relays, employee PCs, etc. to identify any vulnerabilities based on current threats.

Based on Trustwave's industry-leading TrustKeeper™ scanning technology, the Managed IVS service provides the following features and functionality:

• Reporting - Trustwave managed IVS is powered by TrustKeeper. Through TrustKeeper, you have instant access to results from scans of your internal network. Reports include scan summary and remediation recommendations to manage vulnerabilities. Reporting also supports custom, free-form labeling of specific networks assets.
• Safe Penetration Testing - Trustwave managed IVS simulates probing attacks in an attempt to gain access to sensitive data. This technique is a common component of "penetration testing" or "ethical hacking," typically performed by a security consultant. The probing attempted by the scanner will not intentionally cause network delay or denial of service.
• Remote Management - Trustwave's security engineers are trained in vulnerability management and support Trustwave managed IVS from a state-of-the-art Security Operations Center (SOC). Remote management can typically be performed without any changes to your firewall configuration.
• Flexible Scan Scheduling - You can schedule automated scans to execute at times that are convenient to your organization's needs, including one-time, ad-hoc scans. In addition, scans of varying intensities are supported according to your needs:

• Light Inventory (well-known port and service discovery)
• Inventory (all service and port discovery)

• Self-Service Scan Management - Trustwave managed IVS supports multiple scan profiles along with the ability to exclude specific IP addresses and ranges of IP addresses. The service also allows for the definition of black-out periods during which scans will not be conducted.
• Self-Service Scan Control - From the TrustKeeper secure web portal, users can easily start, stop and pause scans.
• E-mail Notification - Advisory e-mails notify you when scans are scheduled to begin and upon completion of a successful scan.
• Support Services - Trustwave provides 24x7, multi-lingual support services.
• Quick Installation - Trustwave's managed IVS appliance arrives as a pre-packaged solution and can be installed in a matter of minutes. To activate the service, the appliance requires minimal, automated configuration provided by Trustwave's Managed Security Services (MSS) professional staff.

Trustwave's IVS service is able to view a network from behind a firewall, providing a comprehensive view of your organization's IT environment. Once installed, the IVS scans internal servers including, but not limited to, Database, Intranet, DHCP (dynamic host configuration protocol), Mailer Daemon and File Sharing systems, in search of any vulnerabilities.

Trustwave managed IVS leverages either Trustwave's TS-10 (a desktop device for small or home offices) or Trustwave's TS-100 (a rack-mountable appliance).
